Loan Player

Instead of selling a player how about introducing loaning system. Thus poor teams can get fine players and also good teams who do not have place for these players in their squad will get better players after some time.

For this you can have a loaning period also.

Yeah but that doesn't happen in cricket... :-)

I agree with Kashyap....

@Amit: the value increases if they are trained. So users may loan their young players to their friend's team and at the end of the season get back much better players. It also increases the incentive for users to cheat by owing multiple teams and use them solely to help their main team.

i agree with whatever you're saying Kashyap but isn't that exactly the job devs are suppose to handle? suppress cheating?

you really can't hold up a game feature because there will be a probability of cheating involved... salaries are getting higher but the no. of people turning up for the game aren't... nor are the quality of players... throw some light in this matter pls.

I agree with Kashyap ... Loaning players has its share of problems!

Lets leave the cheating incentive alone .. In what situation is it going to be needed?
1). First of all, if you are alone here with no friends, then this system would not help you out. And its basically unfair for that player.
2). You loan a player for one of two reasons : He is good and can win matches for you and you loan him to a friend to help him and thereby losing your games. Or he is good and you want to train more players in your scheme, which is basically another way to say, I lost the point of the game. (Because selling him or including him in your training plans is a wiser option). Or the player is bad and you want a friend to include him in his training plans and you would do the same for him, there by increasing the chances of both of them loosing.

you don't necessarily have to loan players to your friends. Id be happy to take a few off from other/unknown people. The problem here is not of cheating but reservation of creative freedom.

I really disagree with the concept of barter system. In T20, which has now become more of an enterprise/business model, it is important to strategise and win regardless of how the player trains. Then, I would say - you're not playing a game, you're just trying to get people to stay more and more into the game rather than actively play it. There is no control over a lot of things that govern the game. There is the training and the odd probability of probabilities.

Pray tell, how much of the game play mechanism (tactics, strategy, training and other things alike) do you actually control? (this is a generic question)

If you see the strongest teams in the game right now, they are all being run by very active managers (conversely, very few weak teams are in the hands of good managers), this does mean that they are abe to control the course of their team to a fair extent isn't it?

I agree there will definitely be teams that may want to loan a player, but those cases will be much less compared to cheating cases. If one of your league team loans a Prodigious player with 200k salary a week, you will be forced to do the same to stay competitive right? salaries will hit the roof with such an uncontrolled 'arms race'.

The idea looks very interesting to me...
As most of you have rightly pointed out this feature will lead to cheating but i think we can still implement this feature because it is too good to giveup.
I definetly think the num of Accomplished and above managers cheating is much less than others.. so may be this feature can be introduced as an unlocking feature for accomplished managers. Infact, this loaning-a-player feature is more beneficial to the managers in top divisions who normally would be above accomplished.
It does open to a whole new market where one looks for loaning a player for a particular period of time.. ofcourse the process of bidding or the prices should be discussed and debated.. but it excites me to see a new market where i find players not jus good players but match winners whom i can actually hire.

And, honestly, yea it does increase the Devs 'job' exponentially :P

Honestly, this does seem like a brilliant idea. However, the impression given to me by the response of Devs to feature requests was that their main focus was to keep the features of the game such that they would restrict cheating to a minimum. If the Devs want to keep up the good job of keeping the game played by the rules then they shouldn't implement the idea, as to me there seems like no way that they can introduce this without it being a window to cheaters.

And BTW congrats with the mention in the Hindu! Hope you guys celebrate well :)

I am glad that you found a 3 month old thread to discuss topics, means that search works rightly !

But may be its old because of a reason and we have already reached a conclusion !

Btw i was NOT referring to loaning a player directly between teams. The team shal list the player (jus like selling) along with the price and the loan period. Whichever team is interested or in need of a player for that loan period will participate in bid.

@scotch(malibu) For "We have already reached a conclusion!" - as i already told ' the idea is too good to giveup" so commenting again! May be the thread is NOT yet closed (by Devs) for a reason :P
